2012 Awards

2012 December - Best Skateboard Park - 2012 The Village Voice Best of Award

The 15,000-square-foot skate park opened two years ago and features areas for beginners as well as those brave (or crazy) enough to try out the enclosed bowl with 10-foot walls. Visually, it's also one of the coolest, as it sits adjacent to the Hudson River and has open grassy areas, benches, and a carousel. The park is open year-round, and it's free.

The Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest was voted the #1 skate park in Orange County, CA. With the expansion completed over the summer of 2011, it now makes the skate park over 60,000 SF which is the largest skate park in Southern California.

The Planning Commission from the City of Ojai selected the Ojai Skateboard Park project the recipient of an award for outstanding design in the "New Construction of a Public Facility" category.

2010 June - Dark Sky Award - The International Dark-Sky Association -

The City of Borrego Springs received the "Dark Sky Award" from The International Dark-Sky Association for reducing light pollution throughout the city. Hooded lights that are facing down were designed to not pollute the night skies.

2010 February - California Park & Recreation Society - Award of Achievement - Skate Park

The City of Santa Clarita, CA received the CPRS Award of Achievement for its Skate Park for allowing community input in the design and utilizing specialized builders to build the skate park. The city’s Skate Park S.T.A.R. program for special needs adults, the city’s Camp Clarita Web site, along with a local resident, were also given recognition and awards for their work with the city.
